Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Phuoc Pham (“Distil Reads”, “we”) for use of the Distil Reads application. By signing in, you accept them.

The service

Distil Reads lets you capture videos and web pages and read them as AI-distilled cards in a feed tuned to your situation. It is a single-player tool: there are no followers, no public posts, and nothing you save is shared with other users.

Your account

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use the service.

Bring your own key

Distil Reads is free and runs on your AI key. You provide a DeepSeek or Anthropic API key; we use it only to process your captures. You are responsible for your provider account, its costs, its usage limits, and its terms. We are not responsible for your provider’s availability, pricing, or output.

Your content

What you capture, highlight, and note is yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store and process it so we can provide the service to you. We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it. You are responsible for having the right to capture the material you save and for using it in line with the source’s own terms and applicable copyright law.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Distil Reads to break the law, to infringe others’ rights, or to attack, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.

No warranty

Distil Reads is provided free and “as is”, without warranties of any kind. AI summaries can be incomplete or wrong; treat them as a starting point, not a source of record. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for lost data, or for costs you incur with your AI provider. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under German law.

Ending it

You can stop using Distil Reads at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or if we discontinue the service.
